I decided to do something a little different for Valentine's Day. Cookie Bouquets!
Sugar cookies, decorated with royal icing, sanding sugar and nonpareils, on sticks, in cute little tins. I'm pleased with how they came out.
Here's "Sweet as a Cupcake". The cupcake was inspired by Sugarbelle's.
This is "Soaring Heart". I did a little brush embroidery on the wings.
Here we have "Hot Lips".
And last, but not least - "Daisy Love".
Each cookie pop is individually bagged and tied with curling ribbon.
They're available for purchase locally in Frederick, MD. Interested in purchasing? Hop on over to my website. :)

Wedding Sugar Cookies
I've been busy making up sample cookie designs for weddings. I showed you one for a beach wedding.
Now for the rest. I wanted them to be clean. Classic. Neutral. Elegant.
Quilted hearts. I'm unsure about the dots around the border (not just on these but on all of them). The dots aren't exactly "clean". I wonder if no border at all would be better. Or the dots matching the background. Hmmmm.
I also wonder if a plain square shape would be better. No scallops.
My Maryland crab cookies. I've made these so many times. Never in white though.
I always have cratering on these guys. So very annoying.
Paisley cookies. I did these with a stencil and petal dust.
The bunting cookie is one of my favorites.
Brushed embroidery flowers. So pretty. Sooooo time consuming. I've watched many videos on brush embroidery. SweetAmbs has one, as well as AliBee.
The grey and white flowers were done with icing. The black one is painted on with food coloring. I prefer the ones in icing. More texture and dimension.
Love birds. Another one that I've made several times, but not in white and grey. This is SweetP's design.
Now this one might be my very favorite. I painted the roses with food coloring. I love the shabby chic look. This design was inspired by Arty McGoo and SweetAmbs. Arty McGoo taught us how to paint "squiggle roses" at Cookie Con. SweetAmbs has a video showing how to do it.
The painting was soooo fun. It was hard to stop!
It's time to start planning spring and summer weddings. I hope that some of these designs will make a few wedding appearances!

Initials in the Sand Sugar Cookies
I've been making sample wedding cookies lately. This one because I was asked about cookies for a beach wedding.
The inspiration was Montreal Confections. She has a video on it here. The foamy waves are done with brush embroidery. Mine are a little thinner than MC's. I think that next time I need to go a little heavier.
To make the beach cookies a little more weddingish, I decided to add the initials of the bride and groom into a heart carved into the sand.
I love how they came out!

Catching Up
Here are a variety of cookies that I've made over the last few months that I just haven't gotten to posting.
Corporate logo cookies and snowflakes for a company holiday party. I was a little intimidated at first, but the logos came out okay.
Christmas cookies in a jar. I put these in Maggie's Bake Shop to be sold.
Snowmen faces and snowflakes for a holiday party.
Christmas ornament cookies. The marbling on these was really fun to do. I took 100 these to "Christmas in the Valley". The kiddos went around to all of the tables with stockings to be filled with goodies from each business. These were my contribution. The kids were so cute and polite with their open stockings. Fun!
These were almost the death of me. 300 medical themed cookies. ON STICKS! The "Big Girl Panty" cookie was for one of the RNs. Inside joke apparently. For some reason, it felt like I just couldn't catch a break while decorating. Everything seemed to go wrong and those stupid sticks just get in the way. It all worked out in the end and I was ready to celebrate once they were out of my hands.
Just a few Scrabble cookies spelling out "Heather".
These were giraffe cookies for a Sweet Sixteen party. Thank heavens for Sugarbelle! When I got the request, I immediately thought of her cookies. I would have been lost without her tutorial.
Sweet teddy bear cookies for a baby shower.
And......the oven. Ah, the oven at Maggie's. Baking in this thing is awesome. FULL sheet pans and multiple racks. Baking those 300 medical cookies wasn't so bad!
That's it. I'm all caught up. I have big plans for 2013.
Happy New Year!
