My name is Dotty. I live in Maryland with my husband and two teenage sons.
For the last seven years I've been designing, creating and selling pincushions on etsy. I love to sew and embroider. I also love to bake! I work part time at a recreational cooking school as an office assistant and assisting with cooking classes. I'm also a substitute teacher in the elementary grades. Yes, I do keep busy!
In December 2011, my husband asked me to make sugar cookies for Christmas. I had made decorated sugar cookies most years for Christmas. That year though, I decided to get serious and try to make them better than ever. I started googling, reading tutorials and watching videos.
This was the result that Christmas. . .
I had so much fun decorating them! I was hooked. I wanted to learn more and make cookies better than these.
I started this blog shortly after to document my future cookie endeavors. I wanted to record what I was doing right, what I was doing wrong, and what I wanted to do the next time. I see this blog as a valuable learning tool for me. I'm hoping that just maybe other beginning cookie decorators will learn something too.
