Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Birch Tree Stumps
These birch tree stump cookies were made for a bridal shower. The theme for the wedding is country, rustic, outdoor, woodsy theme, so I think these cookies fit the bill quite nicely.
The hearts and couples' initials personalize each cookie.

Mini Crab Sugar Cookies Decorated with Royal Icing
These cookies were for a baby shower. "Maryland is for Crabs" after all.
I had been wanting to try gender reveal cookies for quite some time. With some of the extra mini crabs, I gave it a whirl.
Not sure how successful it was. I was hoping that when someone bites into the cookie, pink or blue icing would be revealed. I would have liked the colored icing to be more prominent.
I'll have to try this again sometime. Perhaps coloring the pink and blue a tad darker. Perhaps more of it.

Kids can decorate sugar cookies with royal icing too!
Just look at her go!
One of the ladies that works at the bakery babysits this cutie. She would often hang around, watching me decorate cookies.
On this day, I had some extra cookies and icing. She went to town!
Look at her with the scribe tool. I didn't even tell her to use it. She was moving the icing around and wiping it off on the damp cloth - just like I do. She really had been watching me!
Look at that outline!
She was really amazing. I couldn't believe how well she did on her first try at decorating!
