Washington, DC Cookies

Washington, DC Monument and Building Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing

This was the year of the DC cookies!  I'd say that my two most popular cookie designs for weddings are crabs and these cookies - DC monuments!  I don't know how many times I made these for spring and fall weddings.  I actually stopped taking photos of them every single time.

You can see the White House, Capitol, and Washington Monument.  I also make the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials.

Aren't these cookie tags beautiful?  Meghann from Blank Canvas Creative designs all of the tags for my customers.  I'm blown away every time I see them!

Oh, and here are some cherry blossoms to go with the buildings.  I love it when they choose to include the cherry blossoms!

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing for a German-Themed Wedding

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Monograms, Edelweiss and Lebkuchenherz

These cookies were something completely different for me.

The bride wanted cookies resembling Lebkuchenherz (gingerbread hearts), a traditional German cookie associated with Oktoberfest.

No flooding of the entire cookie with royal icing.  Just piped details on top of the plain cookie.

I don't usually make chocolate cookies but we thought that the darker color would show off the icing better and closer resemble the traditional gingerbread coloring.

The whole cookie collection - Edelweiss, the personalized hearts and monograms.

Orioles and Yankees Cookies

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees

The Orioles had quite a season!  I wish it had ended differently, but it was still exciting!

These cookies were made for a baseball loving couple's wedding.

I don't sell cookies based on copyrighted/trademarked designs, so these aren't for sale.  There are always other coordinating designs that we can come up with.  Cookies may be purchased through my website.

Eyeball Sugar Cookies

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Bloodshot Eyes

You would think that these cookies were for Halloween, wouldn't you?  Nope.  They were made as a gift to someone about to undergo cataract surgery.  The bloodshot look was requested.  :)

The cookies were packed into a canning jar and shipped off. They look pretty funny staring out of the jar!  I love that the sender and the recipient must have quite a sense of humor.

Cookie Decorating Demonstration

Cookie Decorating Demo in Frederick, MD

I had the pleasure of doing a cookie demo at D'Accord Boutique in Frederick.  It was so much fun!  I had a nice little audience coming and going through the shop.  And what a cute shop it is!  If you're ever in downtown Frederick or in Sherperdstown, WV, you have to stop by.  They sell the most beautiful treasures from France - gorgeous table linens, pottery, kitchen items.....and Ann Clark cookie cutters!  These are the Christmas cutters I used for the demo.....

And here I am demonstrating how to flood cookies with royal icing.....

After two hours, here's what I had completed.....
I would love to do more demos!

Cookie Decorating Party - Thanksgiving 2014

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing Decorating Party - Middletown, MD

Want to decorate this cute turkey cookie platter with me?  I'll provide the cookies and the royal icing.  You do the decorating and you'll have this platter to bring to your Thanksgiving dinner!

This is my version of Sugarbelle's turkey platter

I decorated the turkey's body in two slightly different ways.  I kinda like this guy better. He has more personality......

Here you can see the full feathers.  I used wet-on-wet and marbling.  I added some additional details to a few of these sample feathers in case anyone wants ideas on how to dress them up a bit.

Grab a friend and come decorate cookies with me!  You may register for the party through my website.
