Tutorial - Cooling and Storing Baked, Undecorated Cookies

Tutorial - How to Bake and Store Undecorated Cookies

Would you like to see what I do with sugar cookies once they're out of the oven and until it's time to decorate?  Here we go......

Allow the cookies to sit on the cookie sheets for a few minutes after you remove them from the oven.  They're very soft and fragile straight from the oven.  Give them a few minutes so they're less likely to break.

Place the cookies onto cooling racks.  Leave them there until they're completely room temperature.  I'll leave them for an hour, if I can, just to be sure.

Line an air-tight container with plastic wrap.

Neatly stack your cookies into the container.

Cover the cookies entirely in the plastic wrap.

Seal the containers with the lids.

The next day your cookies are ready for decorating.  I always look forward to that part!

Cookies are available for order through my website.
