I'll be teaching another cookie class at The Kitchen Studio in Frederick, MD.
If you've never decorated cookies before, we'll cover the basics of outlining and flooding. It's not as hard as you might think. Really! You'll make and color royal icing.
If you have decorated cookies before, we'll cover two new techniques.
Royal Icing Transfers - These are a great time-saver, a fabulous way to use leftover icing, AND they're an easy way to get identical results on a group of cookies! The flip flops in the photo are transfers.
Wet-on-Wet Flowers - You can see them on the tropical shirt. This is something I learned from Sugarbelle and is perfect for any summer cookie collection! It's really fun to do too!
I'll also show you an easy way to do the beach ball. I've always been intimated by doing those. How in the world do you get those sections to come out evenly? I'll show you an easy and quick trick to do just that!
We'll also decorate cute little crabs, sunglasses, a sailboat and ice cream cone.
Join me for an evening of fun cookie decorating! April 25, 2013, 6:30 - 9:30 pm.
Sign up here. I hope to see you there!
Wish I could come too! We will have to stream you live from Frederick! Sounds interesting and fun.
ReplyDeleteI am SO excited I found you! I've seen your cookies before but not on your blog. I just started cookie decorating in September to thank the surgeons/drs/nurses at the hospital that operated on my son (open heart surgery) and haven't stopped since! BUT I've been all self taught and have so many questions. My consistencies are never the same! Talked to hubby and that night looks great - can't wait to sign up!!!!!! I live in Olney and have looked at other cookie bootcamps but they've been either in California or Conn - too far. You're SO close!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could come too Barbara! You could teach it!
ReplyDeleteDD, I'm so excited that you'll be coming! Bring your questions! Thanks and hope your son is doing well.
