Baseball Bridal Shower - Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Baseball Bridal

I've done all of these cookies many times - but never in this color palette!  The combo of designs is new too!

The baseball wedding gown with pandas AND stick figures?!  What a novel idea.  :)

Manicures and Cookies

I make a lot of Washington, DC themed cookies.

The White House, Washington Monument, the Capital.....

Of course pandas and cherry blossom cookies are often part of those sets.

When I saw these panda and cherry blossom nail wraps from Jamberry, I had to have them.  The fact that they're made in a junior size?  That didn't stop me.  It was a close call though.  A kid can get two nails done from of each wrap.  Luckily I was able to get one nail from each wrap.

Love.

Washington, DC Sugar Cookies

Wedding Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Washington, DC monuments and Cherry Blossoms

This spring has been the season for my DC cookies!  So many DC weddings in the last two months!

The Capitol, White House, and Cherry Blossom Trees.

This set included the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument.

These were put into individual favor bags to be included in a welcome box for hotel guests.

And this set included the Jefferson Memorial and pandas.

I've made pandas for many weddings.  I've also made them for many kids' birthday parties.  I've put little pink bows on their heads for little girl parties.  Never before have I made them with bow ties for a wedding!  I am in love with these little guys.  It was at my customer's suggestion to add the black bow ties.  She wanted to give a dozen of these to the groom.  I hope to make more tuxedo pandas!

Lots of Panda Sugar Cookies

Panda Bear Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing

I think it's been the summer of panda cookies.  I've made lots of them - many with cute little pink bows.  It's always nice to add cherry blossom cookies.  They make a great set.

My favorite panda cookie was the one below on the oval.  I think it turned out so cute!

The pandas in hot air balloons were unique and fun!

Washington, DC Cookies - Take Two

Sugar Cookies Decorated with Royal Icing - Washington, DC -
Cherry Blossoms, Pandas, Monuments

This is the second time that I've made these cookies.  I think that the cherry blossoms are better this time!

I really love those cherry blossom trees!

The monuments and buildings....Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, White House and Capitol Dome.

I've got to admit....I was a little nervous the second time.  Could I reproduce them?  Happy to say that I did it.  Shew.

I love those panda bears sitting among all of the buildings!

Check this out!.......

I was asked to make my DC cookies for a young man who volunteered to bring White House cookies to "Presidential Night".  Unfortunately there wasn't time for me to make them.  I suggested to his mom that she make plain white cookies and have him draw the White House with edible markers.

Look at the job he did!  Aren't they amazing?  I love, love, love these cookies!

Girlie Panda Cookies

Sugar Cookies decorated with Royal Icing - Girly Pandas

I made panda bear cookies for a first birthday party.  The theme was "Baby Panda".

A new baby panda was recently born at the National Zoo.  What a fun theme for a party!

I girlied up my usual pandas - adding pink bows, eyelashes and rosy cheeks.

Panda Bear Cookies

Chocolate and Vanilla Panda Bear Sugar Cookies

Little cuties, huh?  I've been admiring all of the adorable Japanese cookie cutters that I've seen online.  Just before Christmas, my husband bought a set for me!

For each panda shape there are multiple pieces and one for impressing the face.

It's hard to tell here but the vanilla pieces are layered on top of the chocolate bases.  My original plan was to make each panda only one layer, cutting spaces in the chocolate to drop in the vanilla.  That sure didn't work.  The pieces were just too small.

No royal icing in sight but the next time I use these, I plan on cutting out the bases and using the other cutters to make impressions.  Then decorate with royal icing as usual.

I've added that to the mighty long list of cookies I want to make.  Someday maybe I'll actually get to it!

Washington, DC Wedding Cookies

Sugar Cookies decorated with royal icing - perfect for a wedding in Washington, DC.

Finally!  I've been wanting to decorate Washington, DC themed cookies for a long time.  I was scared.  I was intimidated.  I didn't know if I could pull it off.  I got another request for them, so it was time.  I had to do a test run before accepting the order.  I think I pulled it off!

The panda bears are the main attraction at the National Zoo.  I grew up with Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing.  They were DC celebrities.  Anyone else remember them?

I even did my senior project in high school at the Zoo.  The graphics department.  Thankfully not the animal clean up crew.  The only thing that I remember doing is drawing faces of animals that were to be used as a reference for face painting at the zoo.

Oh, and one other memory - Alicia (the other high schooler) having a beer when we went out to lunch!  A beer!  At lunch!  While we were working! Alicia was 18, the legal drinking age in DC way back then.  I guess I still haven't gotten over the shock of that, huh?

So here's sweet Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing in cookie form........

Is there anything more beautiful than cherry blossoms in DC?  I think not.

I made cherry blossom trees and flowers in cookie form.

Notice anything wrong with the trees?  The flowers on the trees have six petals!  What was I thinking?  I guess I wasn't.  They should only have five petals.  I'll try to remember to get that right next time!

Onto the Washington buildings and monuments.  This is what terrified me.  I wasn't able to get the cutters so had to try to create them on fancy rectangles.  The shapes of the buildings.  The details.  All of those lines that need to be semi-precise.  Yikes.

We have the Capitol dome, White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial.

I added some snowy skies on two of them.  Perfect for a winter DC event, right?

Cloudy and clear skies too.  Perfect for spring or summer.

I had intended to add some branches with fall leaves peeking in from the sides to represent the season of fall.  I quickly nixed that idea as I was decorating.  Not enough room.  It probably would have turned out awfully and ruined all of that work.  Sorry fall!

Thanks for looking!
