Favor Bags for Cookies

Where to buy and what size favor bags do you need for cookies?

I've been asked this question many times, so thought I'd share.

I purchase my favor bags at Gifts International.  The prices are great, but the shipping is a bit high so order a lot at a time!

My bags are organized in plastic shoe bins, by size.

Some of my bagged cookies.....

I WISH that I could purchase 4" x 8" bags!  The 4" x 6" are often too short so I have to move up to a 5" wide bag.  I  really want 4x8ers!

 If you know of somewhere to purchase bags of that size, please let me know in the comments!

Shipping sugar cookies is possible when they're packed well!  I was terrified of shipping and resisted for quite some time.  To expand my business, I finally decided to give it a try.

Thankfully I have two cookie friends, Amy and Cindy, that answered my questions and encouraged me!

How to Bag Sugar Cookies for Shipping

All of my cookies from orders are either bagged (for shipping or local pick up) or placed on a platter (for pick up).

All of my bagged cookies are heat-sealed

I use a 12" Impulse Heat Sealer with cutter.

Would you like to learn how I bag my cookies for shipping?

I NEVER tie the ribbon prior to shipping!

How to Package Sugar Cookie Favors for Local Pick Up/Delivery

I use curling ribbon to tie my cookie favor bags.  I can't believe that I used to put down a ruler and measure out every single ribbon.  That can take a long time when you need 100 or more pieces of ribbon!

One day, I finally got smart about it.  It now takes less than a minute to cut that much ribbon.

I bag my cookies, heat-seal them, then tie ribbon.

If the cookies are for local pick up (or if you deliver) , place the favors into a 10" x 10" cake box from BRP Box Shop.  Their boxes are really nice and sturdy.

 If the cookies are to be shipped, I bag them differently.   More info here.
