Catching Up

Here are a variety of cookies that I've made over the last few months that I just haven't gotten to posting.

Corporate logo cookies and snowflakes for a company holiday party.  I was a little intimidated at first, but the logos came out okay.

Christmas cookies in a jar.  I put these in Maggie's Bake Shop to be sold.

Christmas ornament cookies.  The marbling on these was really fun to do.  I took 100 these to "Christmas in the Valley".  The kiddos went around to all of the tables with stockings to be filled with goodies from each business.  These were my contribution.  The kids were so cute and polite with their open stockings.  Fun!

These were almost the death of me.  300 medical themed cookies.  ON STICKS!  The "Big Girl Panty" cookie was for one of the RNs.  Inside joke apparently.  For some reason, it felt like I just couldn't catch a break while decorating.  Everything seemed to go wrong and those stupid sticks just get in the way.  It all worked out in the end and I was ready to celebrate once they were out of my hands.

These were giraffe cookies for a Sweet Sixteen party.  Thank heavens for Sugarbelle! When I got the request, I immediately thought of her cookies.  I would have been lost without her tutorial.

And......the oven.  Ah, the oven at Maggie's.  Baking in this thing is awesome.  FULL sheet pans and multiple racks.  Baking those 300 medical cookies wasn't so bad!

That's it.  I'm all caught up.  I have big plans for 2013.

Catching Up

I've got a backlog of cookie photos that I haven't had time to post.  These are cookies that I made a few weeks ago.

A gender reveal party for a Maryland baby.  Pink and blue crabs.  I just love that people are wanting crab cookies for baby celebrations!

A couple at the party recently got engaged, so we needed a couple of hearts just for them . . .

Poker cookies.  These were for a friend that hasn't been feeling well.  I almost didn't give them to him.  The poker chips were riddled with craters and they bled!  I've never had bleeding before or cratering that bad.  I chose the best of them to photograph.  I really should have photographed the worst of them too.  It was an embarrassment but I figured that they would still cheer him up.

Scrabble Tile Sugar Cookies

I made these cookies for two reasons.

1. I wanted to thank my fabulous tax guy for getting our tax returns done quickly.

2. I wanted to test out my new toy. Can you guess? A KopyKake projector!

It really helped out with the lettering! Not perfect of course, but a whole lot better than it would have been without the projector. I happened to have a piece of scrapbook paper featuring scrabble tiles so that worked out very well for projecting.

I still can't believe that I own one of these babies. I mentioned it to my husband and he told me to get one. Crazy guy. I'm the frugal one in the family. He's...um...not frugal. He said that he loves his toys and wanted me to get a toy. Woo hoo!


I used this tutorial to create the wood grain. I'm quite pleased with how that came out.

Unfortunately I made these cookies before I did my cookie spreading experiment so the squares aren't crisp and clean. With all that I learned, they just might be squarerer next time. :)
